Summary of Role
We are looking for full stack developer versed in Ruby on Rails to join our R&D team, working at the forefront of life science research platforms. If you are passionate about high quality code, software design and modern web technologies, your place is with us. You will work with an agile team of passionate developers and create the best ever platform for researchers and laboratories.
As a veteran engineer, you will be a key player in designing and implementing future releases of Labguru™, developing the platform APIs, and constantly improving our service. You will work closely with product and management to ensure that we provide the best service to our growing community.
Responsibilities
• Design and implement new features and future releases of the Labguru™ platform across the full stack.
• Develop and maintain platform APIs, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Write expressive, well-tested, and maintainable code following test-driven and iterative development practices.
• Collaborate closely with product and management teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Contribute to building a scalable service deployed as multi-tenant SaaS, single-tenant SaaS, and on-premise.
• Support secure development practices, scaling, and performance optimization.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools and workflows to accelerate development, code review, and testing.
• Share the load with colleagues, contribute to team spirit, and help maintain a pleasant working atmosphere.
Experience
• 3+ years of back-end development experience in large-scale web applications — required
• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails at a read-and-contribute level — big advantage
• Degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience with at least a few of the following: Redux Toolkit, Lit, AWS, CI/CD.
• Experience with Docker (advantage)
• Experience with MySQL (advantage)
• Experience with ElasticSearch (advantage)
• Experience working with AI tools to accelerate development (e.g., AI-assisted coding, code review, or testing)
• Experience with integrating AI workflows into the product SDLC and development process (nice to have)
