Role Description This full-time, on-site Full-Stack Developer role is based in Yerevan and supports the development of geospatial platforms, geoportals, and related web applications. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining front-end and back-end components, integrating geospatial data services and
APIs, and optimizing application performance and
security. The role involves close collaboration with geospatial engineers and project managers to understand requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and ensure reliable deployment and maintenance of production systems. The developer will also contribute to code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement of the development workflow and architecture.
Qualifications
- Strong front-end development skills, including modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, or Angular), HTML5, CSS3, and responsive UI design.
- Robust back-end development experience with server-side languages (e.g., Node.js, Python, or Java), RESTful API design, and integration of external services.
- Database proficiency with relational and/or NoSQL systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB), including data modeling, query optimization, and practical use of spatial data where applicable.
- Experience with geospatial technologies such as GIS platforms, map libraries (e.g., Leaflet, OpenLayers, Mapbox), and handling of spatial data formats and services.
- Knowledge of software engineering practices, including version control (Git), testing, debugging, documentation, and secure coding principles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work on-site in Yerevan, collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams, and communicate clearly in written and spoken English; Armenian or Russian language skills are an advantage.
- Previous experience in geospatial or mapping projects, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP), and DevOps tools (e.g., Docker, CI/CD pipelines) is beneficial.
