Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer with strong backend or full-stack expertise to build a scalable, secure, and real-time messaging platform. This role involves developing production-grade chat and notification systems that support seamless communication experiences while ensuring high availability, low latency, and data security.

The ideal candidate has experience building distributed systems, real-time messaging applications, and cloud-native services, with the ability to independently deliver complex features in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend or full-stack applications.
• Build real-time chat and messaging functionality using modern communication technologies.
• Develop reliable messaging infrastructure supporting notifications, message delivery, read receipts, attachments, and presence.
• Design and implement event-driven, distributed system architectures.
• Build highly available, fault-tolerant services with strong performance and scalability.
• Integrate messaging platforms with CRM, customer support, or contact center solutions.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Ensure application security, privacy, and compliance for sensitive customer communications.
• Optimize cloud infrastructure, application performance, and system reliability.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design decisions.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in backend or full-stack development.
• Strong experience building production-scale real-time messaging, chat, or notification systems.
• Hands-on experience with WebSockets or similar real-time communication technologies.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• Experience designing scalable microservices and REST APIs.
• Solid experience with AWS cloud services.
• Strong understanding of messaging reliability, durability, and low-latency system design.
• Experience building secure, high-performance applications.
• Proven ability to independently deliver end-to-end software solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Amazon Connect, Salesforce, or similar customer engagement platforms.
• Experience in fintech, banking, or other regulated industries.
• Knowledge of messaging platforms, chat applications, or notification infrastructure.
• Experience building consumer-facing communication products.
• Familiarity with high-availability patterns such as caching, failover, and resilience engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong problem-solving and system design skills.
• Experience delivering cloud-native applications in AWS.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, product-driven engineering environment with minimal supervision.
