Backend Developer

Part-time engagement, with option to extend to full-time based on performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Node.js backend services and APIs
• Model, query, and optimize relational databases (PostgreSQL / MySQL) — schema design, complex queries, performance tuning
• Build, deploy, and operate on AWS (Lambda, RDS, S3, API Gateway, DynamoDB, etc.)
• LLM and AI usage.
• Design and consume REST/GraphQL APIs and webhooks for third-party integrations
• Own observability and reliability of the services you ship

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience
• Strong Node.js — Express, NestJS, or equivalent — daily production work
• SQL — write complex queries, design schemas, diagnose performance issues. PostgreSQL preferred.
• Hands-on AWS — Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM (or equivalent serverless / cloud stack)
• Strong English — written and spoken (US client team)

Nice-to-Have

• Production experience integrating AI / LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) into backend systems
• Some frontend exposure (React, Vue, etc.) — not required, but a plus
• TypeScript
• Experience with Shopify, e-commerce platforms, or CRM/ERP integrations
• Message queues / event-driven architectures (SQS, Kafka)
• CI/CD, Docker, IaC (Terraform)
