About The Role
The Senior Software Developer will play a critical role in supporting the enterprise application modernization efforts. This position involves working on complex legacy ASP.NET MVC applications and transitioning them toward modern .NET 8-based solutions. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performance enterprise applications. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, a deep understanding of both legacy and modern development frameworks, and the ability to collaborate effectively within Agile/Scrum teams. This is a mostly remote position with a hybrid schedule, requiring onsite presence for equipment pickup and occasional meetings.

About The Role

Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional software development experience delivering enterprise applications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with ASP.NET MVC using .NET Framework 4.x
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with ASP.NET Core and modern .NET (.NET 6+ / .NET 8)
- Proficiency in C# within layered or N-tier architectures
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server, relational data modeling, and query optimization
- Experience with Entity Framework 6 and Entity Framework Core
- Proficiency in building Razor Views and Razor Components
- Familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery for legacy support
- Experience with Blazor development
- Experience implementing claims-based authentication and fine-grained authorization
- Hands-on experience using Azure DevOps, Git, and Visual Studio 2022
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal onboarding in complex codebases
- Experience working in regulated environments is a plus
- Design, develop, and maintain modern.NET 8 solutions utilizing ASP.NET Core Web APIs and Blazor (Server/WebAssembly)
- Enhance and support existing legacy ASP.NET MVC applications built on .NET Framework 4.x
- Create reusable Razor components, shared libraries, and scalable service layers for enterprise applications
- Develop responsive, accessible user interfaces compliant with ADA and WCAG standards
- Ensure seamless interoperability between new services and legacy systems
- Participate actively in Agile/Scrum teams, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and technical reviews
- Collaborate with architects and senior technical staff on design decisions and implementation strategies
- Provide accurate effort estimates and deliver solutions within contractual deadlines
- Develop API-based and file-based integrations with internal and third-party systems
- Implement background processing using scheduled jobs, hosted services, and cloud-hosted solutions
- Design, optimize, and maintain SQL Server schemas, queries, and stored procedures to support application needs
- Implement data access layers using Entity Framework 6 and Entity Framework Core
- Ensure data integrity, auditing, and compliance with data retention policies
- Apply secure coding practices, including handling sensitive data and implementing authentication/authorization mechanisms
- Implement logging, monitoring, and diagnostics using tools such as Application Insights
