About The Role

Are you passionate about shaping software architecture and leading technical teams? Do you enjoy analyzing existing systems and developing innovative solutions to modernize and enhance software landscapes? We are seeking a skilled Java Developer to join our dynamic team at Steadforce GmbH. In this role, you will not only contribute to the development of high-quality software but also play a crucial part in architectural decisions and team mentorship. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product owners, system architects, and clients, to deliver robust solutions aligned with business goals. Your expertise will help us build scalable, reliable, and efficient systems, leveraging modern technologies and development practices.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in Java development, with a minimum of five years working on complex software projects. You should have a solid understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or DB2, and be familiar with testing frameworks like JUnit, Mockito, and WireMock. Experience with modern development workflows, including Git, CI/CD pipelines, and code reviews, is essential. Knowledge of cloud environments, particularly Azure, and RESTful API design will be advantageous. Familiarity with Stücklistensysteme, especially in manufacturing or automotive contexts, is a plus but not mandatory. You should possess strong analytical skills, structured thinking, and a proactive approach to tackling technical challenges.

Additionally, excellent communication skills in both German and English are required, along with a team-oriented mindset and enthusiasm for knowledge sharing. Your personal strengths should include self-organization, responsibility, and a genuine interest in mentoring and supporting colleagues in their development.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing systems to identify modernization opportunities and develop strategic solutions for system enhancement.
• Design and implement new software components using Java, with frameworks such as Quarkus, ensuring high performance and scalability.
• Develop and integrate both synchronous (REST/JSON) and asynchronous (Kafka) interfaces into existing system landscapes, ensuring seamless communication and data flow.
• Participate actively in system integration, testing, and validation processes to ensure quality and reliability of deliverables.
• Collaborate closely with clients and business units to understand requirements, provide technical guidance, and ensure solutions meet business needs.
• Plan, organize, and facilitate agile ceremonies such as sprint planning and reviews, ensuring continuous delivery and improvement.
• Create and prioritize user stories in collaboration with stakeholders, maintaining a clear and manageable backlog for the development team.
• Mentor junior team members, sharing best practices, code reviews, and technical knowledge to foster team growth and cohesion.
