Company Description ENGAGE MENA is a dynamic marketing agency based in the UAE, focused on delivering impactful marketing solutions across the MENA region.

About Role:

We are hiring a Full-Stack Engineer to join the technical development team of our platform.

You must be able to design the architecture, write production-quality code, integrate third-party services and personally deliver the first version of the product.

You will work directly with the product designer and initially operate as the main developer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review the existing product and technical specification.
• Convert requirements into a practical engineering roadmap and backlog.
• Identify technical risks, missing requirements and external dependencies.
• Design and implement the frontend, backend, database and service integrations.
• Build the initial responsive web platform from development through production.
• Add and validate the WhatsApp Business workflow early in the project.
• Implement authentication, authorization and account-recovery workflows.
• Protect personal contact details and separate public data from private data.
• Safely handle webhooks, failed messages, retries and duplicate events.
• Build secure administration and moderation capabilities.
• Establish local, staging and production environments.
• Set up deployment, monitoring, backups, recovery and cost controls.
• Write automated tests for critical workflows and privacy protections.
• Maintain clear technical and operational documentation.
• Provide regular demonstrations of working software.
• Communicate technical decisions, risks and trade-offs clearly.
• Help recruit and lead additional developers when required.

Required qualifications:

• Evidence of independently delivering a production web application from initial requirements through launch.
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript, React and Node.js.
• Practical experience with Next.js or a comparable full-stack web framework.
• Strong PostgreSQL and relational database design skills.
• Experience building and documenting secure APIs.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and processing webhooks.
• Experience with background jobs, queues, retries and idempotent processing.
• Good understanding of authentication, authorization and role-based access.
• Good understanding of privacy, encryption and secure handling of personal information.
• Experience with cloud deployment, monitoring and production incident resolution.
• Ability to build responsive, accessible and polished user interfaces.
• Ability to work independently and make sensible early-stage product decisions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Highly Valuable Experience

• Meta WhatsApp Cloud API or an official WhatsApp provider such as Twilio.
• Supabase or comparable managed database, authentication and storage services.
• Arabic and English applications, including right-to-left interfaces.
• Creator-economy, SaaS, marketplace or messaging products.
• Privacy-sensitive communication systems.
• PDF or digital media-kit generation.
• React Native or Expo for future mobile development.
• Payment-provider or marketplace-payment integrations.
• Technical hiring, mentoring or small-team leadership.
