Senior Applications Developer – Java + SQL + Angular

Position Overview

Using your development, design, and leadership skills, you'll design and implement solutions based on client needs — collaborating with customers on future system enhancements to drive continued engagements.

Basic Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience with Java, J2EE, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, leading development of highly scalable and resilient applications
• 6+ years of deep architectural experience with Spring Boot, including mentoring others on best practices and advanced features
• 4+ years of Angular
• 4+ years of leadership experience adopting new technologies/frameworks, guiding development best practices, and overseeing technical project management
• 3+ years of experience with SQL

Job Requirements

• Strong critical thinking and excellent communication skills
• Experience working in an Agile methodology environment
• Experience conducting code reviews
• Experience with containerized platforms (OpenShift preferred); deploying services via Jenkins
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Angular
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle) — writing stored procedures, performance tuning
• Experience with Messaging Queues (IBM MQ, ActiveMQ)
• DevSecOps experience — creating Jenkins and/or ADO pipelines from scratch; SonarQube scans and JFrog vulnerability detection/remediation
• Highly motivated to learn new technologies
• Strong troubleshooting skills with ability to recommend interim and long-term solutions
• Knowledge of integration and performance testing
• Experience with production support
• GCP experience a plus (not required)

What You'll Do

The Senior Applications Developer provides input and support for, and performs full systems life cycle management activities (analysis, technical requirements, design, coding, testing, implementation of systems and applications software). You'll participate in component and data architecture design, technology planning, and testing for Applications Development initiatives to meet business requirements — providing input to project plans and integrations, collaborating across teams, and supporting emerging technologies.

• Perform detailed design of complex applications and architecture components
• May lead a small group of developers in configuring, programming, and testing
• Fix medium to complex defects and resolve performance problems
• Own service commitments at the individual request level for in-scope applications
• Monitor, track, and participate in ticket resolution for assigned tickets
• Manage code reviews and mentor other developers
