About The Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer II to join our Decision Management Program (DMP) team. This role is pivotal in advancing our customer experience strategy through continuous innovation, problem-solving, and technical excellence. The successful candidate will work on developing, maintaining, and enhancing Mastercard's decisioning platforms, particularly focusing on advanced decisioning and intelligence solutions that enable real-time transaction analysis and intelligent decision-making. The role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to industry-leading products that impact millions of transactions daily, ensuring security, efficiency, and customer satisfaction across the payment ecosystem.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Demonstrated experience in software development, including full lifecycle management, is essential. Proficiency in Java programming and familiarity with modern development tools such as Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies are required. Strong problem-solving skills, debugging capabilities, and a solid understanding of software engineering principles are vital. Additional desirable qualifications include experience with cloud technologies, microservices architecture, and collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence, or Rally. Effective communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies will contribute to success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the entire software development lifecycle, from design and coding to testing, deployment, and documentation, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and refactor existing applications to improve performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Develop expertise in emerging technologies, architectural patterns, and programming languages to support evolving business needs.
  • Collaborate effectively within Agile Scrum teams, participating in planning sessions, sprint reviews, and daily stand-ups to prioritize and deliver features aligned with business goals.
  • Automate build, deployment, monitoring, and operational processes to enhance efficiency, reliability, and operational excellence.
  • Partner with Product Owners and cross-functional teams to understand requirements, contribute to demos, and ensure solutions meet business and customer needs.
  • Promote engineering best practices by upholding coding standards, conducting code reviews, sharing knowledge, and continuously improving architecture and development frameworks.
