WORK & STUDY OPPORTUNITY IN BARCELONA – IMPRESS x HARBOUR.SPACE INSTITUTE

Harbour.Space Institute of Technology has partnered with Impress to offer a fully-funded Master's degree scholarship, along with hands-on work experience as a Fullstack Developer at Impress, Europe's #1 invisible orthodontics chain, operating 110+ clinics across 10 countries and combining in-person clinical care with proprietary AI-powered digital monitoring.

We're looking for a mid-to-senior level Fullstack Developer to join Impress in Barcelona through Harbour.Space's Work & Study Programme, a structured track for engineers who want to work in Spain while completing a fully-funded Master's degree.

What you'll be doing:

You'll build and maintain features across the full stack, Node.js and NestJS on the backend, React on the frontend, REST API design and integration, database management, and cloud infrastructure. You'll own features end-to-end across a platform running at serious scale, collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers, and participate in architecture decisions.

Who we're looking for:

  • 3+ years of professional fullstack development experience
  • Strong Node.js backend experience: TypeScript, NestJS, APIs, server-side logic
  • Solid frontend skills in React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS
  • Database experience in production environments, relational and/or NoSQL
  • Understanding of REST API design, microservices, and basic DevOps principles
  • Comfort working in regulated, high-reliability product environments
  • Fluent English
  • Open to relocating to Barcelona

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Build and maintain features across the full stack, from database to patient-facing interface
  • Own features end-to-end across a platform used by 110+ clinics across Europe
  • Design and integrate REST APIs with frontend applications and third-party medical services
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers to ship new features
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to architecture decisions
  • Ensure reliability, security, and performance standards across a healthcare platform

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Java or Kotlin and Spring framework
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Exposure to healthtech, medtech, or regulated product environments

What you get:

  • Full-time Fullstack Developer role
  • Full Master's degree covered by scholarship
  • Monthly stipend, while you work and study
  • Cohort of international mid-level professionals going through the same track

Not a fit if: you have under 3 years of fullstack experience, you're strong on one side only with minimal exposure to the other, or you're looking for a remote role.
