About the Role

Our client from the UK is looking for a Full Stack Developer to build, maintain, and improve e-commerce websites for our clients. You will work across both front-end and back-end development, supporting the delivery of fast, reliable, and conversion-focused online stores. The role is suitable for a developer who is comfortable working independently, solving technical issues, and collaborating with designers and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain responsive e-commerce websites and web applications.
• Build and customise WordPress and WooCommerce websites.
• Develop reusable front-end components using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related frameworks.
• Customise themes, templates, plugins, and e-commerce functionality based on project requirements.
• Develop and maintain back-end functionality, databases, APIs, and integrations.
• Integrate payment gateways, shipping providers, CRM systems, marketing tools, and third-party APIs.
• Troubleshoot website, checkout, plugin, integration, and performance issues.
• Improve website speed, security, mobile responsiveness, and overall technical performance.
• Convert UI/UX designs into functional and responsive web pages.
• Maintain clean, structured, and reusable code.
• Conduct testing and debugging before website deployments.
• Manage website updates, staging environments, deployments, and version control.
• Support ongoing enhancements and technical requirements for existing client websites.
• Work closely with designers, marketers, and project teams to deliver projects according to agreed requirements and timelines.

Requirements

• 3-4 years experience in full stack web development.
• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP.
• Practical experience with WordPress and WooCommerce development.
• Experience customising WordPress themes and plugins.
• Familiarity with MySQL or similar relational databases.
• Experience working with REST APIs and third-party integrations.
• Understanding of responsive and mobile-first web development.
• Familiarity with Git and version control.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems independently.
• Good understanding of website performance, security, and technical SEO fundamentals.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work across multiple projects.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Next.js, or Vue.js.
• Experience with Node.js or other back-end technologies.
• Experience integrating Stripe, PayPal, or other online payment systems.
• Understanding of e-commerce user journeys, checkout optimisation, and conversion-focused development.
• Experience working within a digital agency or managing multiple client websites.
