Title: Software Engineer - Backend

Location: Remote

Position Summary:

This role is focused on building and maintaining scalable, reliable backend services that power mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate is passionate about backend engineering, cloud-native architectures, and data-intensive systems, and thrives in an environment where reliability, performance, and security are paramount.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using AWS serverless and managed services.
• Build and support event-driven microservices, ensuring loose coupling, resiliency, and scalability.
• Own backend data flows, including data modeling, validation, persistence, and system-to-system integrations.
• Implement secure, performant APIs and asynchronous messaging patterns to support high-throughput workloads.
• Develop and maintain automated tests to ensure reliability, correctness, and long-term maintainability.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize backend systems in production environments.
• Develop and execute automated tests to ensure software quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our solutions.

Must-Haves

• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and building backend systems on AWS.
• Advanced experience with .NET Core and C# for backend service development.
• Strong proficiency with AWS services including Lambda, SQS/SNS, API Gateway, and related serverless components.
• Deep experience designing and supporting event-driven, distributed microservice architectures.
• Solid background in data modeling, persistence strategies, and data integrity across services.
• Experience implementing automated testing (unit, integration, and service-level tests).
• Strong problem-solving skills with high attention to detail in production environments.

Required Skills:

• .Net., C#, AWS Cloud and it's services.

Preferred:

• IaC - Terraform (highly preferred), Certifications & Healthcare insurance exp

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, ideally Terraform.
• Comfortable working in a scaled agile environment with CI/CD pipelines.
• AWS Certifications (Developer, Solutions Architect, or equivalent).
• Experience working with healthcare or insurance data in backend systems.
• Familiarity with healthcare data standards and formats (e.g., HL7, FHIR, claims data models, HIPAA-compliant data handling).
• Frontend experience with React and Next.js.
