About the Role

Senior Full Stack Developer — $75–$80 per hour | Contract | Primarily remote within Canada. Engagement November 2, 2026–November 1, 2027; potential extension up to 24 months. 36.25 hours/week, 7.25 hours/day. Standard hours: 8:15 AM–4:30 PM Mountain Time, Monday–Friday. Occasional Edmonton attendance may be required on reasonable notice, up to 10% of total hours. Some Alberta travel for research/user interviews may be required. Work arrangements may change with reasonable notice.

Responsibilities

• Participate in research, discovery and user interviews; lead technical discovery, diagrams and documentation.
• Design solutions and deliver digital-service features aligned with product-owner and user needs.
• Resolve functional and non-functional defects; improve code quality, tooling, documentation and maintainability.
• Collaborate with frontend designers, advise product owners, and support deployments and launches.
• Build reusable components and common capabilities; onboard technical team members.
• Work in cross-functional agile teams and contribute to backlog refinement, sprint planning and execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; equivalent education considered.

Required Skills

• 10+ years using source control, particularly Git, in collaborative development.
• 7+ years of automated unit and integration testing.
• 7+ years with relational and alternative database technologies.
• 10+ years as a Full Stack Developer delivering complex software in agile teams.
• 5+ years developing production applications using modern application frameworks and frontend JavaScript frameworks.
• Full-Stack Development, Git, JavaScript, Unit Testing, Integration Testing, Relational Databases, Agile Development, CI/CD, Software Architecture.

Preferred Skills

• 8+ years incrementally modernizing legacy systems across multiple releases.
• 2+ years using generative AI and agentic tools for drafting, analysis, structured retrieval and automation, including prompt design, RAG and critical evaluation.
• 8+ years with one or more of Angular, React, Vue.js, C#/.NET Core, Node.js (NestJS/Express), Python/Django.
• 8+ years with design patterns and software architecture.
• 2+ years with relevant public-sector development guidelines and principles.
• 5+ years with CI/CD pipelines.
• 5+ years working with UX, service design, design thinking or human-centred design teams.
• React; Angular, Vue.js, .NET Core, Node.js and Python/Django are relevant framework alternatives.

Pay range and compensation package

$80–$85 per hour.
