Role Description The Software Engineer at A&A will design, develop, test, and maintain software components and services, with a focus on back-end systems and web applications. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code, participating in code reviews, debugging and resolving issues, and collaborating with other engineers, product owners, and QA to deliver high-quality features. The role involves working with APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks, as well as contributing to architectural decisions and performance optimizations. The Software Engineer will also help improve development processes, tooling, and automation across the team. This is a part-time remote role, offering flexibility while expecting consistent communication and reliable delivery of assigned tasks.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
  • Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience in at least one modern language (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience with Back-End Web Development, including working with APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and ability to apply them in designing and implementing maintainable code.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
  • Experience with testing practices (unit, integration, and automated tests) and debugging tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote, part-time setting, managing time and priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, and a collaborative mindset when working with cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) or containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
