Full Stack Developer (Node.js & AWS)
Location: Stellenbosch, Western Cape
Work model: Hybrid
Employment type: Permanent, full-time
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Full Stack Developer to join a growing technology team in Stellenbosch.
This is an exciting opportunity for a developer with strong Node.js, JavaScript, REST API and AWS experience to help design, develop and maintain scalable web applications and cloud-based solutions.
You will collaborate with product managers, designers and fellow developers to deliver reliable, secure and user-friendly software that supports key business objectives.
Key responsibilities:
• Design, develop, test and maintain full-stack web applications
• Build and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and backend services
• Develop responsive, user-friendly front-end applications
• Deploy, manage and optimise applications within AWS environments
• Integrate third-party platforms, systems and APIs
• Improve application performance, security and reliability
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to development best practices
• Maintain technical documentation and system architecture diagrams
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle
Essential requirements:
• At least three years’ Full Stack Development experience
• Strong commercial experience using Node.js
• Advanced JavaScript (ES6+) development skills
• Proven experience building and consuming REST APIs
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS and API Gateway
• Experience using Git and modern version-control practices
• Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
• Good understanding of software architecture, application security and performance optimisation
• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related discipline
Advantageous experience:
• React, Vue.js or Angular
• TypeScript
• Docker and CI/CD pipelines
• Serverless architecture
• Agile or Scrum environments
• Relevant AWS certifications
