At Geomagical Labs, we're building IKEA Kreativ—the AI-powered home imagination experience that helps millions of IKEA customers visualize, redesign, and furnish their homes using cutting-edge 3D, computer vision, and spatial computing.

We're looking for a Frontend Engineering Lead to help shape the future of our flagship web platform. This is a hands-on technical leadership role for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, influencing architecture, mentoring teammates, and delivering exceptional customer experiences at global scale.

What you'll do

• Lead the technical design and development of the IKEA Kreativ web experience, delivering high-quality, customer-focused features used by millions of IKEA customers.
• Architect scalable frontend solutions using modern JavaScript, TypeScript, React, APIs, and cloud technologies.
• Partner closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to translate product vision into elegant, high-performing technical solutions.
• Provide technical leadership through architecture reviews, design discussions, code reviews, and mentoring, helping elevate engineering quality and team effectiveness.
• Collaborate across distributed teams and with IKEA partners to drive technical roadmaps and deliver seamless omnichannel customer experiences.
• Champion engineering excellence through thoughtful architecture, automated testing, documentation, and continuous improvement.
• Foster a collaborative engineering culture built on curiosity, ownership, innovation, and customer focus.

What we're looking for

• 7+ years of professional experience building and shipping modern web applications in production.
• Strong Computer Science foundations and software engineering principles.
• Expert-level experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
• Deep understanding of modern frontend architecture, APIs, cloud platforms, and scalable distributed systems.
• Proven experience leading technical initiatives, influencing architectural decisions, and mentoring engineers.
• Demonstrated success solving complex systems design and engineering challenges.
• Experience building consumer-facing products at scale.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and design teams.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote-first engineering environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with 3D graphics, WebGL, or visualization technologies.
• Experience building retail or e-commerce applications.
• Familiarity with modern DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
• Startup or high-growth technology experience.
