2. About the Opportunity:

The Senior Software Engineer I is responsible for designing and implementing software architecture for current and future products. This role ensures solutions are robust, maintainable, and aligned with strategic goals, contributing to advancing the organization's products in clinical research.

3. Responsibilities:

• Design and implement software architecture for present and future products
• Research and analyze third-party software tools
• Define software development processes and coding standards
• Review designs for correctness, robustness, and long-term viability
• Develop web-based systems using Java EE and front-end technologies
• Create user interfaces focusing on usability, security, compatibility, and performance
• Analyze operational feasibility and develop solutions
• Develop new core functionalities
• Adhere to coding standards and methodologies
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance on performance and deployment issues
• Perform root cause analysis and outline corrective actions
• Participate in peer code reviews
• Document solutions through various technical materials
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet customer goals
• Review technical accuracy of product documentation as needed
• Maintain attention to detail in problem diagnosis
• Plan and manage time to meet deadlines
• Mentor less experienced engineers
• Serve as technical lead when required
• Manage multiple projects concurrently
• Attend training and participate in professional networks
• Perform other related duties as assigned

4. Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years professional experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Java, Ruby, Objective-C, C#, C++, Python, or PHP
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle, Postgres) and SQL/PL/SQL
• Cross-browser client-side development with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks/libraries (e.g., Dojo, D3, Angular, Vue.js, React, jQuery)
• Proficiency with Git/GitHub version control
• Knowledge of SOAP and REST web services
• Experience documenting software requirements
• Ability to manage project activities collaboratively
• Experience writing ad hoc SQL for troubleshooting

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Familiarity with clinical trial processes and medical informatics
