About The Role

Miva is seeking a skilled full-stack Web Developer to join its Professional Services team. This client-facing position involves translating client business needs into technical solutions, participating in client conversations, and explaining technical concepts in accessible language. The successful candidate will be responsible for building, customizing, and maintaining eCommerce storefronts using Miva's server-side templating language (MVT), HTML5, CSS3, and vanilla JavaScript. You will connect client stores to various business systems through integrations ranging from modern REST APIs to legacy XML-based services. Your role encompasses large-scale development projects, ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and discovery work across multiple client accounts. Collaboration with Project Managers and cross-functional teams is essential to ensure solutions meet scope, quality, and deadlines. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on innovative projects within a dynamic environment, contributing to the growth and success of our clients' online businesses.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional web development experience, including at least 1 year in eCommerce
• Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 (including preprocessors like Sass/LESS), and vanilla JavaScript (ES6+)
• Experience with PHP in a web development context
• Working knowledge of SQL-based databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Proficiency with version control systems and Git workflows
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work within defined scope, timelines, and platform constraints in a client-facing environment
• Experience with building and supporting integrations via REST and SOAP APIs, including data mapping, authentication, and error handling
• Knowledge of platform configuration and optimization within Miva or similar eCommerce platforms
  
  

Responsibilities

• Scope, estimate, and execute development tasks based on client requirements and signed SOWs
• Develop, customize, and maintain eCommerce storefronts using HTML5, CSS3, and vanilla JavaScript within Miva's platform
• Maintain deep knowledge of the Miva platform to optimize store configurations and performance
• Build and support integrations between Miva stores and external systems such as ERPs, CRMs, payment providers, and analytics platforms
• Troubleshoot and resolve frontend, backend, and configuration issues across the platform and connected systems
• Optimize storefronts for performance, SEO, accessibility, and cross-device compatibility
• Configure analytics tracking, including GA4 and GTM, for full-funnel eCommerce insights
• Implement merchandising strategies such as cross-selling, dynamic listings, personalization, and promotions
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code; participate in code reviews and QA processes
• Follow deployment procedures and release schedules across multiple client environments
• Track project time, communicate status, and escalate blockers or scope risks as needed
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support project success
