About The Role

This senior software engineering role is pivotal in fostering collaboration among senior engineers to develop advanced data analytics solutions and support agile development projects aligned with high-visibility mission objectives. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership and strategic guidance on complex data analytics initiatives, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products. They will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, system engineers, and project managers, to drive innovation and achieve mission success. The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, a deep understanding of full-stack development, and the ability to operate effectively within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Candidates will be instrumental in designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing software systems that support analytic missions critical to national security and defense operations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must possess a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph (FSP). A minimum of fourteen (14) years of experience as a Software Engineer (SWE) in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited institution is mandatory; however, an equivalent of four (4) additional years of SWE experience on projects with comparable software processes can be substituted for a degree. Demonstrated expertise in designing, developing, testing, and debugging software solutions, particularly within Linux operating systems, is essential. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java is required, along with a solid understanding of software development life cycle practices and agile methodologies. Candidates should also exhibit strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset to thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement advanced data analytics solutions in alignment with mission objectives, ensuring scalability and robustness of software systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and translate them into effective software designs. Lead technical discussions, provide mentorship to junior engineers, and contribute to code reviews to uphold coding standards and best practices. Participate actively in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including planning, design, implementation, testing, and deployment. Ensure all software products undergo rigorous quality assurance processes, including Development Acceptance Testing (DAT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), SME validation, smoke testing, and system-level testing prior to deployment. Maintain comprehensive documentation for all development activities and support continuous improvement initiatives. Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices to incorporate innovative solutions into ongoing projects. Support operational maintenance and troubleshooting of deployed systems, providing technical support as needed to ensure system reliability and security.
