About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Software Developer to join our dynamic team in Houston or Austin, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, coding,
testing, and maintaining proprietary software solutions that facilitate the financial operations of local governments. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing existing reporting tools, developing new features, and ensuring the seamless deployment of software
applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in programming languages such as
C#, Visual Basic, and
SQL, along with experience working with various frameworks and
databases, including Postgre
SQL, MVC,
AngularJS, and Qlik.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in
Computer Science or a related discipline, coupled with at least one year of experience in software development and
testing. They should demonstrate the ability to make moderately complex decisions regarding routine issues and possess problem-solving skills to address moderate scope challenges. A solid understanding of network protocols,
database management, and application development frameworks is essential. Candidates should also have excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Write, modify, and debug software for HdL proprietary programs based on architectural knowledge and development experience.
- Utilize source debuggers and visual development environments to ensure code quality and functionality.
- Test and document software applications for clients, ensuring reliable deployment and ongoing maintenance.
- Design and develop intuitive user interfaces to enhance user experience and functionality.
- Enhance existing reporting tools, features, and customized reports for internal and client use.
- Construct and optimize database queries on PostgreSQL to support application needs.
- Apply intermediate-level skills in design, coding, debugging, and testing to deliver functional program modules.
- Understand network architectures and protocols to ensure seamless integration and operation.
- Develop code using technologies such as .Net C#, Visual Basic, MVC, AngularJS, Vue, and Qlik.
- Possess working knowledge of GIS, APIs, and Microsoft Internet Information Server to support diverse project requirements.

Compensation details: The starting hourly wage for this position is expected to be between $27.00 to $30.00. Actual compensation will be determined based on individual skills, experience, and other relevant factors, in accordance with applicable laws.
