🚗 Transforming Car Finance Through Technology

I’m partnered with a fast-growing fintech on a mission to modernise and simplify the car finance experience through technology. They’re building scalable, customer-first products that make financing faster, smarter, and far less painful than traditional lenders.

Following strong growth, they’re expanding their engineering team and looking for multiple Java Engineers across mid-level and senior positions to help scale their core platform and shape the next phase of product development.

🧠 What you’ll work on

• Building and scaling backend services that power core customer and lending journeys
• Designing and evolving microservice-based architectures in a modern cloud environment
• Developing robust APIs and services using Java and Spring
• Improving platform reliability, observability, and operational excellence
• Collaborating across engineering pods to solve complex product and systems challenges
• Contributing to architecture decisions and helping shape engineering best practices

🛠️ Tech Stack - Java, Spring / Spring Boot, AWS, Microservices, GraphQL, Observability tooling (DataDog, tracing, logging)

🧩 What we’re looking for

• Strong commercial experience building backend systems with Java and Spring
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
• Exposure to microservice architecture and distributed systems
• Strong operational awareness — comfortable thinking about monitoring, tracing, and production performance
• Engineers who take ownership and think beyond just writing code
• Comfortable discussing architecture and whiteboarding system design
• Experience using AI coding tools / engineering agents is a big plus
