## About the Role

Serve Robotics is seeking a **Full-Stack Software Engineer, Internal Services** to build and improve internal deployment tooling that helps the company ship robot software safely, quickly, and at fleet scale. You’ll build software used by engineering, QA, and operations teams across the full lifecycle of internal services, from design and implementation through testing, deployment, and production operations.

This role spans **frontend, backend, cloud infrastructure, and embedded software**, with a strong focus on production quality, reliability, observability, CI/CD, release safety, and deployment governance. The successful candidate will take end-to-end ownership of important problem areas, collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders, and bring a practical, detail-oriented engineering mindset to a fast-moving robotics environment.

## Key Responsibilities

- Build, test, and maintain internal web services and user interfaces supporting software release workflows for engineering, QA, and operations teams.

- Work across frontend, backend, cloud infrastructure, and embedded software as needed.

- Collaborate with teammates across the full software lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations.

- Add and improve observability across deployment workflows, including real-time status, logs, timelines, and audit trails.

- Improve tooling for understanding rollout health and debugging deployment failures.

- Strengthen CI/CD, automated testing, and release safety checks.

- Improve confidence in deployment tooling and reduce operational risk.

- Contribute to deployment governance features such as auditability, role-based access, and privileged action tracking.

- Write clean, maintainable, production-quality code.

- Provide thoughtful and constructive pull request feedback, including challenging assumptions, identifying risks, and improving engineering quality.

- Support production rollouts and release operations as needed.

- Participate in the on-call rotation for internal services.

- Deliver quality software with and without generative AI.

## Required Qualifications

- **5+ years of software engineering experience** with meaningful ownership of production systems, internal tools, or other high-visibility software projects.

- Strong backend experience with **Node.js or TypeScript-based services**.

- Strong frontend experience with **TypeScript** and a modern web framework.

- Hands-on experience designing, implementing, testing, and supporting production software with strong attention to reliability and maintainability.

- Demonstrated ability to own a problem area end-to-end, work through ambiguity, and maintain momentum on important cross-functional projects.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to pair program regularly and work closely with stakeholders.

- Willingness to provide candid, respectful technical feedback in code reviews and design discussions.

- Practical, detail-oriented engineering mindset with strong testing instincts and careful consideration of downstream consequences.

## Preferred Qualifications

- **Vue** experience is preferred; React experience is also acceptable.

- Experience working with cloud platforms; **GCP is preferred**.

- Experience with deployment systems, release tooling, feature flags, fleet management, or internal developer platforms.

- Experience building or supporting CI/CD workflows, ideally with **GitHub Actions** or a similar system.

- Experience with scheduling, observability, audit trails, access control, or rollout governance.

- Experience with **GCP, Terraform, Kubernetes**, or related infrastructure used to operate internal platforms at scale.

- Experience supporting software used by multiple internal personas, particularly engineering, QA, and operations teams.

- Experience improving test coverage, structured logging, metrics, or tracing in operationally important systems.

- Experience working in a fast-moving environment with a strong bias for action and personal ownership.
