Melbourne (Hybrid) – Senior Software Engineer

nDeva is partnering with a fast-growing digital health company building evidence-based digital therapeutics used by hundreds of thousands of people globally. Following continued growth and new investment, the team is looking for a strong end-to-end Software Engineer to help build and scale their platform.

About the role

This is a hands-on engineering role in a startup environment where engineers own problems end-to-end — from understanding the user problem, to designing the solution, to building and deploying it.

You’ll work across mobile, web and backend systems, and will be expected to use AI tools heavily as part of your development workflow.

This role would suit a strong mid-level or senior engineer who enjoys working across the full stack, taking ownership, and operating in a fast-moving startup environment where priorities and strategy can change quickly.

What you’ll be doing

• Build and ship features across mobile, web and backend systems
• Work end-to-end from product idea through to deployment
• Design systems, APIs and databases
• Work across React Native, web tools and backend services
• Contribute to architecture and technical decisions
• Work closely with product, design and data teams
• Use AI tools heavily to assist with development and productivity
• Operate in a fast-moving startup environment with changing priorities

Tech environment

• TypeScript
• Node.js
• React / React Native
• GCP (AWS experience also fine)
• Distributed systems / APIs
• DevOps / cloud infrastructure

About you

• Mid or Senior level software engineer
• Strong TypeScript / Node.js / React experience
• Experience across frontend, backend and cloud (end-to-end engineer)
• Comfortable working across architecture, databases, APIs and UI
• Startup mindset — able to take ownership with limited direction
• Comfortable using AI tools as part of your development workflow
• Collaborative, easy to work with, team-oriented personality
• Enjoys fast-paced environments rather than highly structured organisations
