Overview

We are looking for an Intermediate JavaScript Developer to help build innovative, scalable, and high-performing web applications. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in JavaScript who is ready to take on more responsibility: leading features, owning medium-complexity work end-to-end, and contributing to both front-end and back-end development. You will collaborate closely with senior developers, product, and design across a global client base. Your growth is tied to your performance, not a fixed calendar.

Key Responsibilities

Lead features and own your work end-to-end.

Lead the development of medium-complexity features, building reusable front-end components in React and Next.js. Work on back-end tasks in Node.js, including REST API creation and third-party integrations. Write and maintain TypeScript to ensure type safety and code quality. Collaborate with design and product teams to align on requirements and user experience.

Write quality code and keep it that way.

Optimize application performance with techniques like lazy loading, code splitting, and bundle-size analysis. Write unit and integration tests with Jest or Mocha. Diagnose and resolve complex bugs, taking ownership of both front-end and back-end troubleshooting from root cause to resolution.

Deploy and manage with modern DevOps practices.

Containerize applications with Docker and support deployment through Kubernetes. Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, builds, and releases.

Collaborate, mentor, and raise the bar.

Participate in and conduct code reviews to maintain high standards across the team. Mentor junior developers through pair programming and knowledge sharing. Engage actively in agile ceremonies: stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Build secure software.

Implement security best practices for both front-end and back-end, including securing APIs and handling authentication. Ensure applications meet accessibility standards such as WCAG.

Work with international exposure.

Apply your skills in real engagements with clients in the United States and globally across financial services, manufacturing, software engineering, and federal government.

Qualifications

  • Based in Bogotá, Colombia, and able to work on-site in Chico Norte
  • 2-4 years of experience in JavaScript development
  • Strong knowledge of front-end frameworks (React, Next.js) and back-end development (Node.js)
  • Solid understanding of TypeScript, REST APIs, and state management tools (e.g., Redux)
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and familiarity with Kubernetes for orchestration
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices and setting up automated pipelines
  • Comfortable mentoring junior team members and translating technical needs into clear, actionable tasks
  • Looking for a long-term career opportunity, not a short-term position
