Role Description This is a full-time, hybrid Full Stack Engineer role based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with the flexibility to work from home part of the time. The Full Stack Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain web applications across the front-end and back-end, ensuring performance, security, and scalability. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing user interfaces, building and integrating APIs, working with databases, and collaborating with product and design teams to translate requirements into technical solutions. The role involves participating in code reviews, writing clean and maintainable code, troubleshooting issues in production and staging environments, and contributing to architectural decisions. The engineer will also help improve development workflows, documentation, and best practices, while supporting cross-functional teams and mentoring peers when needed.
Qualifications
  • Strong skills in Full-Stack Development and Software Development, with experience delivering production-ready applications.
  • Proficiency in Front-End Development, including HTML, JavaScript, and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
  • Hands-on experience with Back-End Web Development, using server-side frameworks, APIs, and database integration.
  • Solid understanding of version control (e.g., Git), testing practices, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
  • Ability to analyze requirements, design solutions, and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfort working in a hybrid environment from Addis Ababa, with strong time management and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and familiarity with security and performance best practices is an advantage.
