Job description:

As our Shopify Developer, you will take ownership of our website performance and development. You’ll transform Figma designs into high-performing Shopify pages, improve user experience, and build scalable solutions that directly impact revenue.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Shopify storefront (frontend & backend)
• Convert Figma designs into Shopify pages
• Customize and optimize Shopify themes (primarily Dawn)
• Build new features and integrations to improve UX
• Create responsive pages across mobile and desktop
• Troubleshoot bugs and ensure site stability
• Implement scalable solutions aligned with business goals
• Collaborate closely with the founder and designer
• Provide regular updates on progress and deliverables

Requirements

• Proven experience in Shopify development
• Strong skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Liquid
• Experience with Shopify APIs and third-party integrations
• Familiarity with themes like Dawn and frameworks like Hydrogen
• Experience with backend languages (PHP, Ruby, or Python) is a plus
• Strong understanding of SEO and performance optimization
• Proficiency in Figma and pixel-perfect implementation
• Ability to work independently and solve problems proactively
• Strong communication and time management skills

Nice to Have

• Experience working in e-commerce or with SMEs
• Knowledge of payment gateways, shipping systems, and tax setups
• Previous experience working with Canadian businesses
• Shopify certifications
