About the Opportunity:
The SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER plays a key role in developing scalable and high-quality software systems, contributing throughout the design and development lifecycle. This position involves both backend and frontend development responsibilities, with a focus on maintaining and enhancing product features, resolving escalations, and driving technical decisions that align with product objectives. The role is essential for ensuring robust system performance and supporting the organization's strategic goals.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in code and design reviews to support operations and planning
- Engage in full application lifecycle tasks, including coding and debugging
- Develop clean, functional web applications
- Build and maintain data pipelines converting data into Kafka streams and key indicators
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and debugging
- Conduct UI tests to improve performance
- Collaborate with developers, designers, and system administrators on feature identification
- Maintain and upgrade legacy applications using modern technologies
- Gather and address technical and design requirements
- Configure and monitor system environments
- Create reusable code and libraries for future use
- Provide training and support to internal teams
- Enhance development tools, test coverage, and code structure
- Mentor and support junior engineers
- Contribute to architectural discussions
- Respond promptly to on-call incidents to minimize downtime
- Maintain clear communication with customers and vendors
- Independently manage tasks and adapt to challenges
- Uphold development standards within the team
- Advocate for an API-first approach to software projects
Requirements:
- Minimum of 8 years of software development experience or 6 years with an advanced degree
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as Kotlin or Java
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, preferably Vue.js, also React, Angular, and Tailwind CSS
- Familiarity with Spring Boot, Hibernate, and RESTful APIs
- Understanding of software development lifecycle
- Experience with cloud-native infrastructure, AWS, and Kubernetes
- Knowledge of Kafka and event-driven architecture
- Ability to collaborate effectively in agile environments
- Strong analytical, time management, and communication skills
- Experience working cross-functionally with engineering and product teams
- Skilled in monitoring and supporting production systems
- Experience optimizing system performance and troubleshooting bottlenecks
- Expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases and caching strategies
- Knowledge of REST API best practices
- Experience developing various test types including unit, UI automation, and integration tests
- Familiarity with AI-driven engineering practices to improve coding and testing
