About Wovera Solutions PLC
Wovera Solutions PLC builds B2B SaaS products for Ethiopian enterprises. We're a startup, which means small teams, fast iteration, and a lot of ground covered by each person. We care more about how quickly someone learns and how they think through problems than which framework they've memorized.
About the Role
We're looking for a full-stack Software Engineer to join our product team. This is not a role for someone who wants to stay in one lane. You'll move across our stack frontend, backend, database, and sometimes infrastructure depending on what the product needs that week. If you like ownership, get bored doing the same thing for too long, and enjoy figuring things out rather than being handed a spec for everything, this is for you.
You don't need to be an expert in every technology we use. You need to be sharp enough to become productive in a new one quickly, and humble enough to pick up unglamorous work, writing tests, fixing a nagging bug, improving deployment scripts without treating it as beneath you.
What You'll Do
- Build and ship features across our web applications using React and TypeScript
- Design and develop backend services and APIs with .NET and/or Node.js
- Model, query, and optimize data in PostgreSQL
- Collaborate directly with founders and product leads to turn rough ideas into working software
- Debug issues across the stack — frontend, backend, or infrastructure — without waiting to be told which layer the problem is in
- Contribute to deployment pipelines and infrastructure where needed (DevOps exposure is a plus, not a requirement)
- Write clean, maintainable code and leave things better than you found them
- Adapt quickly as our product and stack evolve — new tools, new patterns, new problems
What We're Looking For
- 2–5 years of professional software development experience
- Solid hands-on experience with at least two of: React, TypeScript, .NET, Node.js, PostgreSQL — and genuine willingness to learn the others fast
- A track record of picking up new languages, frameworks, or tools without much hand-holding
- Strong fundamentals — you understand why code works, not just how to copy a pattern that works elsewhere
- Comfort working with ambiguity — startups rarely hand you a fully-specified ticket
- A "no task is beneath me" attitude — equally willing to design a system or fix a typo in a config file
- Good communication — you can explain a technical tradeoff to a non-technical teammate
- Curiosity and initiative — you notice problems before someone assigns them to you
Nice to Have
- Exposure to DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP)
- Experience building products for enterprise or B2B customers
- Interest in or experience with the Ethiopian tech/business landscape
