About the Role We are looking for a Full Stack Java Web Developer to join our growing software development team. Our company operates with a small but highly collaborative engineering structure where developers take ownership of major systems and contribute directly to product direction, maintenance, feature development, and long-term system stability.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with real-world production systems, maintaining and improving existing web applications while introducing new functionality carefully and responsibly. You should be someone with strong backend skills in Java and Spring Boot, combined with solid front-end experience in React.

Because we operate as a small collaborative team, communication is a critical part of this role. Team meetings, technical discussions, project planning, debugging sessions, and documentation are conducted primarily in English. Developers are expected to clearly communicate technical problems, investigation findings, design decisions, and project progress to both technical and non-technical team members.

You will work closely with developers, project managers, QA, and business stakeholders to build and maintain full stack web applications and connected backend systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve existing web applications built with React and Spring Boot

• Develop new features while ensuring stability of legacy functionality

• Design, develop, and integrate RESTful APIs between frontend and backend systems

• Build responsive, reusable UI components using React and Material UI (MUI)

• Implement secure authentication flows using Spring Security with JWT and role-based access control (RBAC)

• Debug production issues and investigate system behavior independently

• Write and optimize SQL queries for MySQL databases

• Manage application state using Redux and Redux Persist on the frontend

• Participate in system design discussions and technical planning

• Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate technical ideas clearly

• Contribute to UI/UX improvements and front-end application behavior

• Support application deployments, testing, and ongoing maintenance

• Write unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito (advantageous)

Technical Requirements

React (Frontend)

• Strong experience with React and modern JavaScript (ES6+), including component state management, Hooks, controlled forms, and client-side routing

• Solid experience with React Router

• Strong working knowledge of Material UI (MUI), including creating reusable and responsive UI components

• Experience with Redux and Redux Persist for state management

• Experience integrating and consuming REST APIs using Axios

• Ability to handle authentication flows, file uploads using FormData, API error handling, and varying API response structures

• Understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility

• Experience with Git for version control

Spring Boot (Backend)

• Strong proficiency in Java

• Solid experience with Spring Boot

• Experience with Spring MVC and Spring Data JPA (Hibernate)

• Strong knowledge of designing, developing, and integrating RESTful APIs

• Experience with MySQL database design, optimization, and SQL query development

• Experience implementing Spring Security with JWT authentication and role-based access control (RBAC)

• Knowledge of Maven or Gradle build tools

• Experience with Git for version control

• Understanding of software design principles, exception handling, logging, and application performance optimization

• Experience writing unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito is an added advantage

Required Skills & Experience

• At least 2 years of professional experience in full stack web development

• Intermediate to strong proficiency in Java backend development

• Solid experience developing frontend applications with React

• Comfortable working with existing/large codebases

• Good understanding of API integrations and client-server architecture

• Experience working with SQL databases and writing raw SQL queries

• Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities

• Strong English communication skills

• Ability to explain technical concepts and investigation findings clearly

• Ability to investigate issues independently with minimal supervision

• Comfortable balancing maintenance work and new feature development

Advantageous but not required:

• Experience with Google Cloud Console

• Experience supporting enterprise or large-scale business systems

• Experience with application deployment processes

• Java or React certifications

Required Qualifications

Degree or Higher National Diploma in:
