About The Role
In this role, you will design and build scalable full-stack
applications that turn operational and inventory data into intuitive
cloud-native products. You will shape the architecture of tools that help retail teams identify stock discrepancies, prioritize actions, and improve on-shelf availability. The project supports a major UK retail group serving millions of shoppers across hundreds of stores.
Responsibilities
- Build end-to-end product features using React, Node.js, TypeScript, and serverless AWS services
- Design and implement REST APIs and integrations with GraphQL services to support reliable application functionality
- Develop AWS Lambda functions and configure API Gateway integrations with secure access and appropriate CORS handling
- Improve application performance, scalability, and maintainability across frontend and backend components
- Refine system architecture by applying clean abstractions, dependency injection, SOLID principles, and effective component decoupling
- Implement unit, integration, and end-to-end tests that support application reliability and the Test Pyramid strategy
- Monitor production systems through logs, metrics, and distributed tracing, and troubleshoot performance and reliability issues
Enhance CI/CD pipelines, participate in code reviews, and promote consistent engineering practices across the team
Requirements
