Within the Ontada division, part of McKesson, the Genospace team is dedicated to building the leading information platform for applied precision medicine. This interdisciplinary team merges genomics, healthcare,
data analytics,
web development, and
cloud computing to serve research, clinical development, pathology, and clinical care customers working with high-dimensional biomedical
data. Many of the most advanced organizations in precision medicine rely on Genospace technology to advance their work.
We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development and delivery of our innovative Genospace software platform. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects that directly influence healthcare and biomedical research. As a Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, developing,
testing, and supporting our
cloud-hosted,
web-based
applications used by clinicians and researchers worldwide to improve patient outcomes and advance scientific discovery.
Your work will directly impact individuals and organizations across the healthcare spectrum, including patients seeking personalized treatment options, researchers pushing the boundaries of biomedical knowledge, physicians deploying tailored therapies, and laboratories conducting cutting-edge analyses. Qualifications
Typically requires 2+ years of relevant experience in software development or related fields.
Critical Requirements Include
- At least 2+ years of professional experience in software development.
- Experience building web applications or data processing systems.
- Familiarity with web technologies and proficiency in at least one common programming language.
- Experience with front-end technologies, back-end development, and database management.
- Ability to design software solutions that meet both functional and technical requirements and communicate these designs effectively.
- Creative and critical thinking skills to analyze problems and collaborate with product owners, data scientists, and designers to develop solutions.
Additional Helpful Qualifications Include
- An interest in impacting healthcare and clinical research through technology.
- Strong teamwork skills and a humble attitude.
- Familiarity with our technology stack, including:
- Front End - Vue.js
- Back End - Java, Groovy, Grails, Kafka, Micronaut
- Data Tier - MongoDB, Elasticsearch
- Professional or academic experience in healthcare, biology, genomics, or related fields.
Education: A 4-year degree in computer science, engineering, or a related STEM field, or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a small, agile team to design, develop, test, and deploy new features in our cloud-based, web applications.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to teammates to ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our engineering processes, products, and technology platform.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including product owners, data scientists, and designers to develop innovative solutions.
- Ensure software solutions are scalable, reliable, and meet security and compliance standards.
- Maintain and support existing applications, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements as needed.
