Real estate in Canada is changing. We're building the tech that changes it.

Who we are

KIC Realty is a Canadian brokerage built around its agents, and it's growing fast. We're building AI tools to automate and optimize every process that stops an agent from focusing on what they do best: helping clients buy and sell properties. Think tools and AI agents to creating listings, send out documents for signing, verify and validate contracts, and finding and correcting errors automatically for agents.

Why work with us

  • Impact: You'll be part of a small team, and your work goes straight to real estate agents and clients across three provinces.
  • Growth: We're expanding, and there's room for you to grow with us.
  • AI-native from day one: You'll work with the best AI tools available and help decide how a modern brokerage uses them
  • Ownership: We believe the people who build the company should share in it.

What technologies we use

Our platform runs on a modern web stack, and AI is part of how we build it every day.

  • Languages and frameworks: TypeScript, Vue and NodeJS
  • Data: SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Infrastructure: AWS Lambda, AWS API Gateway, AWS DynamoDB, MS Entra, MS Graph API
  • Real estate data: MLS® data feeds such as Pillar 9
  • AI tools: Claude Code and Codex. Our engineers use AI coding agents every day, and we're looking for ways to put the same leverage in the hands of our agents and clients.

The position

This is a remote position, but only open to Canadian residents eligible to work in Canada. Preference will be given to someone located in the greater Vancouver area so that we can get together on occasion for planning or celebratory experiences. And as a remote position, it is absolutely critical that you have strong communication skills – both written and verbal.

What you'll do

  • Design, build and ship features across our client-facing platform
  • Build internal tools that help our agents work faster, from lead management to marketing for their listings
  • Make architecture decisions and own features from first sketch to production
  • Mentor other engineers through code reviews and pairing, and help set our engineering standards
  • Work directly with leadership, brokers and agents. You'll hear what's working from the people using what you built.
  • Help shape how we build with AI: our workflows, our review practices, and where AI belongs in our products

What you bring

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong experience with TypeScript, React or Vue, NodeJS, SQL
  • Hands-on experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Codex to build production software. You know how to give them clear direction, review what they produce, and tell when the output is wrong.
  • Experience building and running production web apps, including APIs, data models, performance and reliability
  • Comfort working with third-party data and integrations
  • The judgment to know when to move fast and when to slow down and get it right
  • Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical teammates

Nice to have

  • Experience at a small, fast-growing company where you wore a lot of hats
  • Experience with NoSQL databases, AWS services
