Role Description

Senior Full-Stack Engineer — Full-time · Remote · Kenya

Yobby Technologies is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to help design, build, and scale production-grade web applications and SaaS platforms.

You will work across the full application stack, taking ownership of features from technical planning and architecture through implementation, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.

You'll work primarily with React, TypeScript, FastAPI, Node.js, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, WebSockets, and cloud infrastructure.

You will collaborate with product, design, engineering, and clients to turn business requirements into well-engineered technical solutions.

What You'll Do

• Build and ship production features using React and TypeScript
• Develop scalable backend services using FastAPI, Node.js, or similar technologies
• Design and maintain PostgreSQL databases and API architectures
• Integrate REST APIs, WebSockets, third-party services, and external platforms
• Own features throughout the development lifecycle, from planning to deployment
• Review code and contribute to engineering standards and best practices
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability and performance
• Collaborate with designers, product teams, engineers, and clients
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to a strong engineering culture

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of professional experience building production applications with React and TypeScript
• Strong backend development experience with FastAPI, Node.js, or a comparable framework
• Solid experience with PostgreSQL, REST APIs, authentication, and application architecture
• Experience deploying and maintaining applications in a cloud environment
• Strong understanding of Git, testing, debugging, and modern software development practices
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and make sound technical decisions
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience

Nice to Have

• Experience with AWS or Google Cloud
• Docker and CI/CD experience
• WebSocket or real-time application development
• Experience with fintech, payments, SaaS, or enterprise applications
• Experience mentoring developers or leading technical projects
