About The Company

Photon is seeking talented professionals who are interested in building reliable, user-focused technology solutions. Our teams bring together engineering, product, design, and business expertise to solve practical challenges and deliver thoughtful digital experiences. We value curiosity, collaboration, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement. At Photon, employees are encouraged to share ideas, learn from one another, and contribute to work that supports both customer needs and business goals.

About The Role

Photon is looking for a Software Engineer to help design, develop, test, and maintain software applications. In this role, you will work with colleagues across disciplines to translate requirements into effective technical solutions. You will contribute throughout the development lifecycle, from understanding user needs and evaluating design options to implementation, testing, release, and ongoing improvement. The ideal candidate is thoughtful, adaptable, and comfortable balancing independent problem-solving with open communication and teamwork.

This position offers the opportunity to work on meaningful product and platform improvements while strengthening your technical skills. You will be expected to write clear, maintainable code, consider performance and reliability, and take responsibility for the quality of your contributions. Depending on project needs, you may support existing services, develop new features, investigate technical issues, and participate in discussions about architecture and engineering practices.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Professional experience developing software in a team environment is preferred. You should be familiar with at least one modern programming language and understand core concepts such as data structures, algorithms, object-oriented or functional design, and software testing.

Successful candidates can explain technical ideas clearly, work constructively with feedback, and approach unfamiliar problems with curiosity. Experience with version control, code reviews, automated testing, APIs, databases, and contemporary development tools is beneficial. Familiarity with cloud platforms, continuous integration and delivery, security practices, or agile methods is also an advantage. We welcome applicants who demonstrate relevant skills through professional work, projects, education, or other practical experience.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, test, and maintain software features in line with product requirements and engineering standards. Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements, assess trade-offs, and plan practical solutions. Produce readable, maintainable code and contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, and shared development practices.

Help identify, investigate, and resolve defects, performance concerns, and operational issues. Develop and maintain unit, integration, and other automated tests to support dependable releases. Participate in planning, estimation, and team discussions, communicating progress, risks, and dependencies promptly. Contribute to the improvement of development workflows, system reliability, security, and user experience. Keep current with relevant technologies and share useful knowledge with colleagues.

Benefits

Photon offers a collaborative environment where employees can develop their skills, contribute to impactful projects, and receive support from experienced colleagues. Benefits and employment arrangements may vary by location and role, and will be discussed during the hiring process. Depending on eligibility and applicable local policies, offerings may include competitive compensation, health and wellness coverage, paid time off, professional development opportunities, and flexible work arrangements.
