About You.

The person we’re looking for has:

• Deep expertise in the WordPress ecosystem, including custom theme and plugin development
• A strong understanding of front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery)
• Proven experience in responsive design and ensuring cross-browser compatibility
• A keen eye for performance and security, with the ability to optimize sites for speed and stability
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently
  
  

What you’ll be doing.

In This Role, You’ll Be

• Building and maintaining high-performance WordPress websites from the ground up
• Converting design mockups (from Figma or Adobe XD) into functional, pixel-perfect web pages
• Customizing themes and plugins to meet specific project requirements without sacrificing site integrity
• Managing site migrations, backups, and ongoing technical maintenance
• Collaborating with the design team to ensure technical feasibility and optimal user experience
  
  

Qualitications.

We’d Like To Talk To You If

• You have 5+ years of web development, specifically focused on WordPress
• You’re based in the Ottawa region (this position is in-office only!)
• You have postsecondary education in web development or relevant industry experience
• You’re proficient in PHP, MySQL and Git, and have experience with page builders like Elementor and Gutenberg
• You have a solid understanding of SEO best practices and web accessibility (WCAG) standards
• Agency experience and bilingualism are assets
