Come work for Australia fastest growing and leading independent climate and sustainability firm. We are taking our work digital with Scenova - a digital platform designed for Australia’s mandatory climate reporting landscape covering ASRS, NGER and NPI.

The Role

We've validated our product logic in a no-code prototype - now we're rebuilding it as a real, secure application. You'll take the client-facing wizard (focal framing → scenario construction → narrative output) and rebuild it as a proper React/TypeScript app against a real backend API, working closely with our data engineer as one of the first two hires into the company's new data and engineering function.

A core part of the product is AI-assisted content - assumptions, questions, and narratives drafted by a model. Your job is making it unmistakably clear, at every step, what the AI proposed versus what a human reviewed and approved.

What You'll Do
  • Rebuild the client wizard flow as a production React/TypeScript app, connected to a real API (not embedded page logic)
  • Partner with the data engineer to define the API contract - confirmed vs. draft vs. gap - so state survives a refresh and multiple users
  • Build the genuinely interactive pieces as real components: a draggable scenario-positioning canvas, editable assumption grids, and live-recalculating timeline bars
  • Design clear UI patterns for AI-assisted content: AI-drafted / user-edited / approved states, and simple edit-or-regenerate flows
  • Treat tenant isolation as a frontend responsibility - no client should ever see another client's data, including drafts and unsaved edits
  • Identify where the current prototype won't hold up in production (missing loading states, error handling, network assumptions) and fix it
Must-Haves
  • 4–6+ years production React and TypeScript; comfortable owning component architecture, not just individual screens
  • Strong JavaScript, HTML, CSS
  • Modern build tooling (Vite, Webpack)
  • Testing experience (Playwright, Jest, or Vitest)
  • State management (Redux, Zustand, React Query, or similar)
  • Git and collaborative GitHub workflows
  • Real experience building against a proper backend API - not querying the database directly from the frontend
  • Comfortable with data-dense UI: editable tables, derived values, interactive charts
  • Experience building UI around AI-generated content - streaming/async responses, provenance indicators, graceful handling of missing or bad generations
  • Confident working from a rough but functional prototype as the spec, without needing polished designs handed over
  • Practical fluency with AI-assisted development tools (Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar) - you use them as part of your daily workflow, not just experimenting
Nice-to-Haves
  • Prior data visualisation-heavy roles
  • B2B/SaaS experience, ideally in a dense (not consumer) product
  • Exposure to ESG, sustainability, or another regulated reporting domain
  • Experience designing draft/review/approve UX for LLM-backed features
  • Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP
