Software Developer

Fully Remote

We are looking for a Software Developer to join our engineering team. You'll contribute to the design and development of backend services, work with geospatial data, and collaborate with senior engineers to ship reliable, well-tested software. Responsibilities

- Build and maintain backend services using the **Spring** ecosystem

- Write and optimize **PostgreSQL** queries, including geospatial operations with **PostGIS**

- Package and deploy applications using **Docker** and **Kubernetes**

- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and participate in release processes

- Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews

- Collaborate with senior engineers and product teams to deliver features end-to-end

Requirements

- 5+ years of professional software development experience

- Working knowledge of **Java** and the **Spring** framework

- Experience with **PostgreSQL** and comfort writing complex SQL queries

- Familiarity with **PostGIS** or willingness to learn geospatial concepts quickly

- Hands-on experience with **Docker**; exposure to **Kubernetes** a plus

- Ability to work independently and communicate clearly in a remote environment

- Experience with geospatial data formats (GeoJSON, Shapefile, WKT)

Nice to Have

- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK)

- Exposure to observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana)

- Experience writing unit and integration tests (JUnit, Testcontainers)

- Basic experience with **AWS** services (EC2, S3, RDS, or similar)

- Exposure to **CI/CD** pipelines and version control workflows (Git)
