About the Company
We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to support and enhance a large, mature enterprise platform built on the Microsoft/.NET stack. This role is focused on maintaining, modernizing, and extending a complex production application that supports payroll, HR, time collection, labor management, scheduling, reporting, and integrations with third-party systems.
About the Role
This is not a greenfield role. The right engineer needs to be comfortable working inside a long-lived enterprise codebase, understanding existing architecture, making careful improvements, and solving production issues without destabilizing the platform. The environment includes ASP.NET Web Forms, C#/.NET Framework, MS SQL Server, IIS, NHibernate, XML/XSLT, Web API 2, OData, and related Microsoft technologies. This is a strong fit for an experienced engineer who has real depth in legacy enterprise .NET systems and understands how to keep business-critical software running while improving it over time.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance a large-scale enterprise application built on C#/.NET Framework and ASP.NET Web Forms.
- Work across the full application stack, including frontend Web Forms, service layers, database logic, integrations, and deployment environments.
- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot advanced T-SQL queries, stored procedures, indexes, and execution plans.
- Support and improve IIS-hosted applications, including application pools, configuration, deployments, and production troubleshooting.
- Use NHibernate in a production environment, including mappings, SessionFactory, DAO patterns, and second-level caching.
- Work heavily with XML and XSLT to support forms, reports, templates, and application rendering logic.
- Build and maintain RESTful endpoints using Web API 2 and OData.
- Diagnose and resolve performance, reliability, integration, and data issues in a production environment.
- Contribute to deployment automation using PowerShell and related tooling.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, debugging, testing, and release support.
- Make thoughtful improvements to legacy systems while preserving stability and business continuity.
