InCommon is hiring on behalf of a Series B, venture-backed lending technology company building software that helps lenders originate and manage loans faster and with fewer errors. The company is scaling quickly as we onboard larger customers.
About the role
We're hiring senior engineers who like owning problems end to end. You'll build product features across the stack, from the Postgres schema and Node services to the React interface, and you'll be responsible for how they perform in production.
You'll be working on a platform where correctness matters. The software handles real loans, real money and complex business rules, and it integrates with a lot of external systems.
What you'll do
- Build and ship features across the full stack in TypeScript
- Design and scale backend services and data models on Postgres and AWS
- Translate complex lending workflows and rules into reliable, maintainable code
- Build and maintain integrations with third-party services and APIs
- Make system design decisions and own the tradeoffs: throughput, latency, failure modes
- Operate what you build: monitoring, debugging and on-call
- Work closely with product and customers to ship things that get used
What we're looking for
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 at a senior level
- Recent, hands-on production experience in full-stack TypeScript
- Deep experience with Node.js/Express and PostgreSQL on AWS
- Strong React experience
- Experience with GraphQL (Apollo) and infrastructure as code (Terraform)
- A track record of designing systems and explaining them with real numbers (scale, latency, reliability)
- A hands-on engineer who spends most of their time writing code
- Experience at a product company, ideally a high-growth startup or a strong tech company
Nice to have
- Experience in lending, mortgage, fintech or other regulated products
- Background in distributed systems, event-driven architecture or Kafka
- Security and compliance exposure (e.g. SOC2)
- Experience building with LLMs or AI agents
- An active GitHub or public engineering work
