This is a remote position.

We are looking for a Backend Engineer (2+ years' experience) with strong TypeScript and Node.js experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable server-side applications for our multi-tenant B2B commerce platform. You will work primarily with Express, PostgreSQL (TypeORM), Redis, and BullMQ workers, and collaborate closely with front-end developers and QA to deliver REST APIs, background jobs, and third-party integrations. 

• Design and implement RESTful APIs. 
• Model data and write production-safe migrations using PostgreSQL and TypeORM. 
• Build and operate background jobs and workers using Redis and BullMQ. 
• Integrate third-party services and APIs, and webhooks. 
• Optimize applications for performance, reliability, and operational safety. 
• Troubleshoot and debug production issues across APIs, queues, and the database. 
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to backend best practices. 
• Document API behavior, technical designs, and specifications. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scope and implement new features. 
• Take full responsibility for the features you ship and follow through when something needs attention 

• 2+ years of professional experience with JavaScript/TypeScript (TypeScript strongly preferred). 
• Strong experience with Node.js and Express. 
• Solid experience with PostgreSQL and ORM (TypeORM preferred). 
• Experience writing and reviewing database migrations for production systems. 
• Experience with Redis and job queues such as BullMQ (or Bull / equivalent). 
• Understanding of authentication, authorization, and security best practices (JWT, cookies/sessions, RBAC/permissions). 
• Comfortable working within large, existing codebases and debugging production issues. 
• Experience with version control systems like Git and collaborative code review 

Preferred Skills

• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS, e-commerce, marketplace, or payments systems. 
• Experience with dependency injection patterns (tsyringe, Inversify, or similar) - NestJS experience is a plus 
• Understanding of SOLID design principles, particularly interface-driven design and dependency inversion. 
• Familiarity with Docker and containerization. 
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines. 
• Experience with cloud platforms/infrastructure (AWS, DigitalOcean, or Cloudflare). 
• Exposure testing frameworks like Jest. 
• Experience with observability tools such as Sentry and structured logging.
