About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Software Engineer to join our team at Optum. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-native applications that support our healthcare initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement scalable and secure solutions using public cloud platforms, primarily AWS. Your expertise will contribute to building large-scale web applications, integrating AI/ML models, and ensuring the security and performance of our systems. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, innovative mindset, and collaborative spirit. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, software engineering, or related fields is required. Candidates should have at least three years of experience in enterprise software development, including building microservices, REST APIs, and web applications with frameworks like ReactJS. Proficiency in high-level programming languages such as .NET Core/C#, Python, or JavaScript is essential. Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, along with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, is necessary. Familiarity with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and data modeling is also expected. Additionally, knowledge of AI/ML frameworks, generative models, and API integrations (e.g., OpenAI) will be advantageous. Excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a passion for innovation are critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-native applications on AWS, utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
  • Implement serverless architectures and utilize cloud monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Splunk, or Grafana to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Build and optimize large ReactJS applications, ensuring responsiveness, security, and user experience excellence.
  • Integrate AI/ML models into applications, leveraging frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch, and develop prompts to effectively utilize generative models.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design secure applications, addressing vulnerabilities and ensuring compliance with security standards.
  • Participate in Agile development processes, contributing to sprint planning, stand-ups, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Leverage containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes to deploy and manage applications efficiently.
  • Work with APIs, including OpenAI and other AI-assisted development tools, to enhance application functionality and user engagement.
  • Develop and maintain data models based on project requirements, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
  • Stay current with technological advancements, particularly in AI/ML and cloud computing, to recommend innovative solutions and best practices.
