2. About the Opportunity:

The Senior Software Engineer role is responsible for independently applying artificial intelligence tools throughout the software development lifecycle to create high-quality, secure, and maintainable code. This position leads architectural discussions, develops complex design specifications, and drives automation and security enhancements. The role impacts the organization by ensuring robust, efficient, and reliable software solutions that meet user requirements and promote engineering best practices.

3. Responsibilities:

• Use AI tools and practices across the software development lifecycle responsibly.

• Take ownership of AI-generated requirements, design documents, and code.

• Apply engineering health measures to enhance processes involving AI.

• Review product and test code to maintain quality standards and appropriate coverage.

• Provide coaching and feedback during code reviews to improve team skills.

• Use debugging tools and telemetry proactively to verify code assumptions.

• Conduct incident retrospectives to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.

• Lead by example in producing extensible, maintainable, well-tested, secure, and performant code.

• Continuously improve code performance, testability, maintainability, and cost-effectiveness.

• Develop clear test strategies that ensure solution quality and security.

• Build testable code and consider testability during design phases.

• Identify dependencies and collaborate with internal and external teams to reach common goals.

• Lead architectural discussions and develop complex design specifications.

• Maintain awareness of current technology trends to inform design and architecture.

4. Requirements:

• Experience independently using AI tools in software development.

• Strong skills in code and test review with an understanding of best practices.

• Ability to use debugging tools, logs, and telemetry for proactive issue detection.

• Knowledge of security standards and principles, including least-access.

• Experience in architectural design and collaborating on complex solutions.

• Ability to develop test strategies and understand various testing architectures.

• Strong collaboration skills to work across teams and manage dependencies.
