For this long-term client project in Bern, Wavestone is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Developer to contribute to modern transport and data platforms while working closely with developers, analysts, and clients.

About the Role

Wavestone is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer with strong Java, Angular, and TypeScript expertise for a long-term project in Bern with a remote component.

You will develop and maintain highly available, business-critical software solutions and contribute across frontend and backend development. The role involves complex technical design, agile development, application support, testing, and continuous improvement of modern software platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain highly available, business-critical software solutions within modern transport and data platforms.
• Implement full-stack requirements across frontend and backend in close collaboration with the development team.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and independently prepare tests.
• Implement user stories and complex functional requirements in collaboration with developers, analysts, and clients.
• Provide technical support, identify and resolve issues, and maintain existing applications.
• Participate actively in agile development processes using Scrum and SAFe.
• Design complex technical systems and contribute to their ongoing technical evolution.
• Apply software development best practices with a strong focus on security.
• Support less experienced team members and contribute technical knowledge across the team.
• Work within Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) environments.

Required Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience as a Full-Stack Developer.
• Strong experience with Java and TypeScript.
• Solid knowledge of Angular and Spring Boot.
• Experience with modern development standards, frameworks, and best practices in Java and Angular environments.
• Practical experience with OpenShift or comparable Kubernetes-based platforms.
• Strong experience with Kafka and MongoDB or comparable message-queue systems and NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of event-driven architectures and distributed system challenges.
• Experience working in agile environments using Scrum and SAFe.
• Experience with CI/CD practices.
• Strong interest in new technologies, development patterns, and innovative technical solutions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to take ownership of technical areas and proactively share knowledge.
• Strong security awareness in software development and solution design.
• German language skills at C1 level or higher.
• English language skills at B1 level.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the railway sector.
• Experience with ArgoCD, Tekton, and Renovate.
• Knowledge of Splunk, Snowflake, Swagger/OpenAPI, or IntelliJ IDEA.
• Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes environments.
• Experience working with modern Java, Angular, and cloud technologies.
• Ability to evaluate and apply new technologies and development approaches.
