About The Role

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer within the SurfaceScout squad at LiveEO, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our flagship product. You will take ownership of substantial components of a live, evolving platform, transforming innovative ideas into dependable, scalable production systems. Your responsibilities will span designing and building features end-to-end using TypeScript and Python, ensuring seamless integration with LiveEO’s platform and data services. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to promote code reuse, maintain high standards of architecture, and drive technical excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the technical direction of a rapidly growing product while mentoring junior team members and championing best practices across the engineering organization.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in full stack development, with a strong focus on TypeScript and Python, and a track record of building and deploying production-grade applications.
• Several years of experience working on backend services, APIs, and modern frontend interfaces in a collaborative environment.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, and pragmatic decision-making to balance speed and maintainability.
• Experience designing and implementing integrations between systems, including APIs, data pipelines, and third-party services.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, including deploying and operating scalable services.
• Demonstrated ability to own features end-to-end, from requirements gathering to deployment and monitoring.
• Experience mentoring team members, providing technical guidance, and setting standards for code quality and best practices.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable features and components across the full stack, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Translate product requirements into robust, well-tested systems that deliver value to customers.
• Define and implement integrations with LiveEO’s platform and data services, ensuring clean interfaces and reliable data flows.
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and other engineers to align on architecture, APIs, and engineering standards.
• Make key architectural decisions related to service boundaries, data models, and deployment patterns, balancing delivery speed with long-term sustainability.
• Iterate quickly on feedback from users and stakeholders, continuously improving features and resolving issues.
• Mentor junior team members, review code, and contribute to shaping the technical direction of the squad.
• Champion engineering best practices, including code quality, documentation, testing, and observability, to maintain a healthy codebase as the product scales.
• Contribute to both backend and frontend development, ensuring a cohesive and intuitive user experience.
• Participate in cross-team initiatives to promote component reuse and architectural consistency across products.
