We build the software aged-care homes run on: resident records, clinical documentation, wound tracking, incident reporting, shift handovers. Every action is audited, because in healthcare the record is the product.
We're looking for an engineer with 2.5+ years of experience, strong in Java/Spring Boot and comfortable in React + TypeScript, to own features end to end: Postgres schema → API → the screen a nurse taps mid-shift.
What we're looking for
- 2.5+ years building and shipping production web applications
- Strong Java and Spring Boot: Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, and a real understanding of Hibernate (lazy loading, N+1, transaction boundaries)
- Solid PostgreSQL: you can design a normalized schema, read a query plan, and know when a JSONB column is the right call
- Proficient React + TypeScript: hooks, state management (Redux Toolkit or similar), and component design you'd still want to maintain a year later
- Practical experience with JWT auth and role-based access control
- REST APIs you've designed for other people to consume, and documented
Infrastructure and quality
- AWS on real workloads: ECS, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM
- Docker: containerising services and debugging them
- CI/CD: building pipelines, not just consuming them
- Testing: JUnit, Mockito, integration tests, Jest/RTL, and the judgement to know what's worth testing
- Comfortable in Git day to day
Nice to have
- Healthcare, clinical, or other regulated, compliance-heavy domains
- Multi-tenant SaaS architecture at scale
- Hibernate Envers or other audit/event-sourcing approaches
- WebSocket/STOMP real-time systems
- Python/FastAPI, or LLM application work (LangChain, LangGraph, pgvector)
- Gradle multi-module builds
How to apply
Apply through LinkedIn with your CV. If you have a GitHub profile or something you've built that you're proud of, include it.
