What f1gures does
We build the software financial advisors use to give better advice. The platform pulls together financial data scattered across institutions and products, then applies analytics and machine learning to turn it into something an advisor can act on: a client's financial roadmap, the scenarios worth discussing, the follow-up that shouldn't be missed.
The questions their clients bring are genuinely hard. How many children can I afford and still retire the way I want? I want a private property by 40 — what's realistic, and when do I upgrade without giving up everything else? Most tools assume the advisor can model that alone. We give them the structure to do it properly, and the client sees the result in an interface that makes the trade-offs plain.
Over 100 advisors use f1gures today, each serving 20 to 80 clients. We expect to be approaching 1,000 advisors within the year 2027.
Why this role exists
The frontend was built by an outside agency while we were still working out what the product should be. That approach gave us the flexibility to explore quickly. Now that the product is moving into production, the next step is to bring frontend ownership in-house.
We're moving from exploration to production, and we want to own our technology outright — the pace of it, the decisions in it, the IP, and the knowledge of how it works. Every month that understanding sits inside another company, we pay a coordination cost and carry a risk we no longer need to.
You're the person we're hiring to end that. You won't be joining a frontend team; you'll be the frontend. You'll work alongside a backend engineer in Kuala Lumpur, with our platform backend owner and your manager in Singapore. The core team is deliberately small, which means your decisions land in production and stay there.
You'll help build technology that supports some of the most important financial decisions people make, from buying a home to planning for retirement. The frontend is where complex analysis becomes a product advisors and clients can actually use, giving you a direct influence on how insights are understood and acted upon. You'll also gain exposure to a broad range of financial planning domains, including CPF, insurance, investments, property, retirement planning, and tax.
What you'll do
What we're looking for

Why work at f1gures
We're a lean engineering team where ownership is real, decisions are made quickly, and good ideas can shape the direction of the product. We're growing quickly, and our engineering team is growing with us. In a close-knit environment, you'll have meaningful ownership, broad visibility into how the business operates, and the opportunity to help shape both the product and the engineering practices that support our next stage of growth. You'll also gain a firsthand view of how financial advice, technology, and commercial strategy come together in a growing fintech business.
If you're looking for a role where your impact is visible, your ideas matter, and your growth can accelerate alongside the company, you'll find plenty of opportunities here.
Onboarding and milestones
You'll begin with an onboarding week in Kuala Lumpur and a structured handover covering the codebase, architecture, APIs, deployment processes, known issues, and technical shortcuts.
The agency will remain available while you take ownership of the frontend and build confidence in the system.
By month three, we expect you to be shipping routine changes to production independently. By month six, you should have a clear, evidence-based view of what should change, what should stay, and why.
How we interview
Two conversations. No take-home.
Technical discussion — 90 minutes. We send you a small repository 20 minutes beforehand and work through it together: orient yourself, diagnose a bug described the way a user would describe it, make a small extension, then tell us what you'd improve and what you'd deliberately leave alone. We'll push back on some of your decisions. That's the point — we want to see how you reason, not whether you agree with us.
Direction and offer — 45 to 60 minutes. With our CEO: the product, where engineering is heading, and what you can expect from us.
Terms
Employment through an Employer of Record with full Malaysian statutory contributions. Six-month probation with written objectives agreed at offer. Remote-first, with an onboarding week in Kuala Lumpur and periodic on-site collaboration after that.
If you're excited by the challenge of owning and evolving a production system end-to-end, rather than simply maintaining one, we'd love to talk. Candidates with a notice period are welcome to apply.
