About the Role

Come Near is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to lead implementation across a personalized digital engagement platform. This role involves building and maintaining features across the frontend, APIs, data layer, and cloud infrastructure while supporting high-traffic digital campaigns and major media events.

You will collaborate with a distributed team and external engineering partners, contribute to technical decisions, and help ensure applications remain reliable, secure, and performant.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and deliver full-stack features across the web platform, including user interfaces, APIs, and data layers.
• Develop production-ready applications using Next.js, React, Tailwind CSS, and shadcn/ui while following established architecture and engineering standards.
• Implement and maintain caching, CDN, and edge configurations using Cloudflare, Vercel, or comparable platforms.
• Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot services within the AWS environment.
• Integrate with data and personalization pipelines while handling personal and sensitive user information according to privacy and security practices.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback on code quality, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with external engineering teams on shared codebases, integration contracts, and established API patterns.
• Coordinate project handoffs and updates across distributed teams and time zones using clear, asynchronous documentation.
• Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Troubleshoot production issues, including performance and reliability challenges during high-traffic events.
• Document technical work through pull requests, runbooks, and team design documents.

Required Qualifications

• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience building full-stack web applications.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Next.js and React.
• Working knowledge of Tailwind CSS and component libraries such as shadcn/ui.
• Practical experience with caching strategies, CDN configuration, and edge platforms such as Cloudflare or Vercel.
• Working knowledge of AWS services relevant to modern web applications, such as S3, Lambda, RDS, and CloudFront.
• Experience writing and maintaining automated tests, including unit, integration, or end-to-end tests.
• Experience working in shared codebases, reviewing other engineers' code, and incorporating feedback.
• Ability to independently deliver defined tasks with minimal supervision in a remote environment.
• Clear written communication skills and the ability to document implementation decisions, progress, and outstanding work.
• Ability to follow established architectural guidance while making sound day-to-day implementation decisions.
• A pragmatic, collaborative approach to problem-solving, delivery, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with external agencies or vendor engineering teams.
• Exposure to analytics or event-tracking pipelines.
• Familiarity with integrating AI/ML-powered product features.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
