Job Title: Senior .Net Software Engineer
Duration: July 27, 2026 – Dec 31, 2026
Possibility of Extension: Possibility- Depending on budgets and business needs.
Number of Positions: 1
Site/Location: First preference: Candidates in Ontario or Montreal go to office 1 day a month for collaboration.
Open to remote candidates but must be able to work EST hours
Daily Work Hours (e.g., 9am–5pm): Regular Business Hours
Max Hourly Bill Rate: $108.26
Role Summary:
Platform and Engineering team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with at least 5 years of .Net application analysis and development experience. The successful candidate will have strong technical and problem-solving skills and will show initiative, be accountable for results.
Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in the design, development, and deployment of .Net REST APIs and microservices using Docker and Kubernetes
- Ensure service designs follow approved architecture.
- Learn and incorporate emerging API technologies into APIs
- Build event driven services using Kafka.
- Use and enhance Dev Ops tools and processes for CI/CD, these tools include Jenkins, Artifactory, BitBucket, Gradle, Continuous Delivery Director, Ansible.
- Identify defects in services, debug and provide effective solutions to resolve the defects.
- Coordinate with both onshore and offshore teams to ensure coding, testing, debugging and implementation activities are completed as required
- Produce and maintain documentation and records in compliance with the SDLC requirements
- Analyze, define and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, interface design, internal and external checks, controls, and outputs
- Contribute to defining timelines and project plans; analyze and estimate feasibility, cost, time and scope
- Ensure information security standards and requirements are incorporated into all solutions
- Contribute to the ongoing support, stability and performance of application systems in production including problem analysis, resolution, escalation and reporting as necessary

The API Platform:
APIs are:-
- REST services built from Open API/Swagger specs
- Written in .NET Core
- Deployed to a Kubernetes environment (on prem/AWS) using Docker containers
secured with oauth2 using Okta
- Build new microservices/domain services that populate and access database technology like MongoDB and Postgres
- Build event driven processes/microservices that consume topics from Kafka
Must Haves:
- 5+ years of development skills and progressive information technology experience with full application development life cycle and systems integration experience
- Strong working experience with .Net APIs, REST, SOAP, JSON, Open API, Swagger, MS SQL, web services and web hosting technologies
- Strong DevOps experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to analyze situations/problems systematically and deliver effective right-sized solutions in a timely manner
- 1+ years’ experience working with Event Driven Architecture
- Post secondary Computer Science diploma or degree
Nice to Have
- Experience with Kubernetes, Okta, Kafka, AWS, MongoDB
- Experience with Group Benefits products and business domains
- Exposure to Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) integration architectures and technologies

Additional Requirements:
- Periodic weekend / after-hours work may be required to support project implementations and system upgrades.
- Occasional travel between SLF locations may be required depending on work assignments.
