About the job: AviSense is looking for a Junior Software Engineer to join our team in Patras, Greece (full-time, remote).

At AviSense, we build software that combines camera, satellite, geospatial and sensor data into a single live picture of what's happening on the ground. Field teams and operators use our platform to spot risks early, understand complex environments, and make faster, safer decisions — with AR/XR guidance to support them in the field. You'll join a small team working on the AviSense platform end-to-end, from the web frontend to the backend services and data layers behind it.

Your Duties And Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Design, develop, and deliver end-to-end software features across the frontend, backend, APIs, and database layers.
  • Contribute to clean architecture, reusable components, and maintainable codebases.
  • Contribute to authentication, authorization, role-based access control, and secure session handling.

Required Skills:

  • Solid foundation in basic web technologies such as RESTful APIs, HTTP, NodeJS, JavaScript, HTML, CSS. Solid Python skills.
  • Understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Familiarity with version control (Git).

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with React, FastAPI, Docker, Nginx.
  • Familiarity with authentication and authorization.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based environments and deploying working applications.
  • Familiarity with publish/subscribe messaging protocols like MQTT or message queues like RabbitMQ or similar tools.

Our Current Technology Stack Includes: Python, FastAPI, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js, PostgreSQL, Nginx, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, Git, MQTT, LiveKit.

This is a junior position — no professional experience is required. If you're early in your career, we encourage you to include personal or university projects in your CV that demonstrate your technical skills, even if they're not web-related.

What we offer: Base salary of €1,100 after tax, paid 14 times per year (per Greek standard)

Fully remote working model — wherever you're based, in Patras or elsewhere. We get together in person only occasionally, for things like brainstorming sessions and team bonding.
