Role Description This is a full-time hybrid Software Engineer role based in Surabaya, with the flexibility to work from home part of the time. The Software Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain web-based applications and services that support Mandarin LACO’s online learning platform. Daily tasks include implementing back-end features, integrating APIs, optimizing system performance, and ensuring reliability and security of the platform. The role also involves collaborating with product, design, and content teams to translate educational requirements into technical solutions, participating in code reviews, and contributing to continuous improvement of development practices.
Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software architecture.
• Hands-on experience in Software Development and Programming using modern languages and frameworks.
• Proficiency in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, databases, and server-side technologies.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, manage time independently, and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with educational technology platforms or interest in language learning is a plus.
